Moshe,
This sounds very simular to my posts 'Timing out an fgets' I was basically
told about socket_set_blocking() which when set to false will make fgets
return straight away and not sit there waiting for data to be sent. This seem
to work but I have run into some strange things while using it and have made
little progress.
Hope this helps.
