I install Apache with PHP (apache+php-1.3.12+3.0.15.tgz)
and MySQL (mysql-server-3.22.32.tgz and mysql-client-3.22.32.tgz)
from binary package under FreeBSD 4.0.
All is running OK.
Next I try to use connection to MySQL from PHP script. But it looks like
impossible.
<script language="php">
$status = mysql_connect( "$hostname:$port", "$username", "$password"
);
if ( !$status ) { echo "Connect to database failed!\n"; exit; } else { echo
"Connect OK \n"; }
</script>
Then I put to web-browser http://my.domain/php3/connect.php3 I get next
message
Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function mysql_connect() in
/www/my.domain/php3/connect.php3 on line 2
Is function mysql_connect() really missing?
Is binary package incomplete?
How to introduce database_connect() function to PHP?
Is there are way to turn mysql_connect() is on?
