The problem is unlikely to be your php.ini file - you can copy the
php.ini-dist which came with php just to make sure.
I suspect that you may have been reading some old instructions regarding
installation - for IIS 4 and above, the registry is not involved in the
configuration - all configuration is done in the Management Console.
