GD library... plz help me !

I have an web hosting plan and now I have very big problems with it.
There are some hidden fees if I want GD library to be enabled.
I think this is crazy because most of the web hosting plans include this GD
library also with php.
The company with who I have these problems is Tera-Byte. They give php but
without GD library which is really crazy...
Can you tell me what to do ?
I can have GD functions installed just on my server or in some way to be
able to use them ???
PLZ HELP !
