imap_open failure

I'm using imap_open in PHP 4.3.0 to successfully access every pop server I've tried - except 1: "mail.fea.net". I know the mail server, port, login, and password are correct because I can successfully log into the pop server with both telnet and Outlook. Here's the code: if ($pop_inbox = imap_open("{".$mailserver."/$mailbox_type:$port/notls}",$login,$password)): I've tried every variation of the code, such as using "notls" or not. In any event, I know the code works because I can log into every other pop server I've tried. imap_last_error() returns: Can not authenticate to POP3 server Has anyone else run into this?
