* Readable C-like syntax instead of line noise.
* Real function arguements unlike Perl's stack passing crap.
* Understandable classes and OO.
* Rich set of compilied in libraries which are very handy for web stuff.
I personally can't stand Perl for anything more than a page of code.
It's just not readable or maintainable.

If you needed to use anything from the large Perl CPAN module library
which currently doesn't exist in PHP.
Anyone, is there anything like CPAN for PHP? I've seen a few class
archives, but nothing as big or authoritive as CPAN.
