mail() question

Hi, I'm having difficulty getting a confirm by email system running
correctly. I'm running the site on Apache at home and I have sendmail using
my Exchange server at work. For some reason I can only receive an email if
it's on the same domain as my Exchange server. I don't get any email if I
try a different address. Is there way with my setup that I can get this to
fully work in PHP? I was using the mail() function. Thanks.
