ok, I can compile GD and php 4.0.1pl2 just fine. but I need to use the jpeg feature of GD. so I downloaded jpeg-6b compiled tested and installed, just fine, did the same for libpng-1.0.8 then recompiled gd to look at the jpeg libraries. How ever when I goto recompile PHP it won't see the jpeg support. in the Gd library, I have tried all the possibilites I can think of, some I can get to see the CreateFromJpeg, but then Apache bombs out while compiling not being able to see the jpeg libraries. BTW I'm running FreeBSD 3.2, I know I should upgrade, but don't have the time nor wanting to reinstall everything on a production box. I noticed the ftp support isn't there either, during the configure portion This is the configure view I see now, and can't get it to change anymore this is using. ./configure --with-apache=/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.12 --with-ftp --with-jpe g-dir=/usr/local/src/jpeg-6b --with-png-dir=/usr/local/src/libpng-1.0.8 --wi th-mysql --with-xml --enable-track-vars --with-gd checking whether to include GD support... yes (static) checking for gdImageString16 in -lgd...
