That depends on your config file. If you haven't change the configfile, a
file for each session is probably generated in your /tmp dir. Take a look in
the configfile for the text "session.save_path".

Nope. It's only possible through cookies and URL's. You could of course
parse the session id via a form like this:
<form action="<phpscript>" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="PHPSESSID"
value="<?=session_id()?>">
</form>
But that would mean that the user had to press submit the form before the
session id can be used by the PHP script.
