Re my earlier post...
I seem to have figured it out by changing the following lines :

$result=
grep -n Started logs/$file ;
echo '<tr><td><font size="2"><a
href="/logs/'.$file.'">' . $file .
'</td></font></a>'.
'<td>' . $result . '</td>';
}
//========================================================================
Now it works the way it`s supposed to......
