Since you didn't know what database you were going to use at the time, I
assume you didn't compile any database support into PHP at the time. If
this is the case, you will need to recompile PHP using the -with-mysql
option so that the MySQL function support will be included.

Subject: [PHP] Connecting to MySQL
Hey, php3 is working great, but.... I don't have it pointing to any
database (I did'nt know what DB I was going to use at the time).
Anyways I installed MySQL on a remote server and I can't seem to make a
connection to it. I'm supposing that I can modify my configuration file
to accomodate mysql that will work, any suggestions?
