Transparent Database transactions

I want to place html code on several non-php web sites. I want the
code to accomplish the following
1. Display a banner ad that will be storred on my server (this is the
easy part)
2. I also want to insert a new record into a mysql database that is
on my server. This step must happen transparently so as not to
affect the visitors experience while viewing the page that contains
the html code.
How can this be accomplished?
