Please read the manual at
http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.types.string.php#language.types.string
.parsing for *why* this doesn't work, but short answer is:
if ( $_POST['type_sel'] ) echo "face={$_POST['type_sel']}";
if ( $_POST['size_sel'] ) echo "size={$_POST['size_sel']}";
Cheers!
