James,
I found the error I am seeing in the PHP Bug list( #5410
http://bugs.php.net/bugs.php?id=5410 ). It
appears that it ~is~ something
to do with ISAPI interfering with PHP. There is no resolution yet, but the
PHP team is aware of the problem. Well, I guess next time I will check the
bug list first... now that I know it exists.
I tested the php://stdin solution, and as far as I can tell, I am getting
nothing back in this file. The only way I could look at the contents was to
use the fread() function, and it returned no data. I wonder if this could
be from the same setup problem where all output is being turned off. My
current thought is to add a new function to PHP to execute the file in
question, pipe its output to a file, read the data in the file, and return
this data to my PHP scripts... not my preferred solution, but it should do
the trick for now. Hopefully, the PHP team can figure out what is going
wrong and fix this problem in the next release. Too bad we can't all just
get along, dump windows, and switch to Linux! :-)
Let me know if you find anything new, and I will do likewise.
Thank you for all of your help.
