Well some people don't have the backticks enabled, hence we
have to use something like exec or passthru. I use passthru
as
passthru("/home/userid/src/curl www.php.net > result.txt", $res);
Then open the file result.txt which contains the result. Yes
it should be possible to use exec but it didn't work on my
machine so I've settled for the passthru.
