Sure 'u' can do everything you do in PHP with javascript, I just choose to use to use PHP to connect to databases because its DB interface is so much more intuitive than javascript's. In fact - javascript, java, php, lisp, perl, fortran, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion, etc. are all pretty much the same language and there should just be one list that is a mish mash of questions for all of them, it would make everything so much easier. You should follow the advice given and post this on a javascript list, or you could continue to ignore the fact that java and javascript are two entirely different things (as are javascript and PHP) and post this on a java list so they can be annoyed too. > -----Original Message----- > From: daniel [mailto:daniel@electroteque.org] > Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2003 6:33 PM > To: gearond@cvc.net; holmes072000@charter.net; php-general@lists.php.net > Subject: RE: [PHP] java gurus > > > sorry one more thing i must admit , sure u can do in php what u > could do with > jscript , therefore i'd choose to do it in php for the following > example and > reason, trying to implement a dynamic calander selector for a > pulldown date, > the javascript version uses dhtml layers which obviously didnt work in > nutscrape 4.7 or mac, therefore there is no standard on jscript > its just too > chaotic to make it work on most browsers so i've moved to a php calender > alternative, but it would still require jscript to change the > value of the > pulldown select from a popup window :D > > >===== Original Message From <holmes072000@charter.net> ===== > >> thats true i'm not going to argue , but i feel if there is a question > >on > >> javascript which also involves php why not question it , i suggest if > >> anyone > >> does , ppl answer it offlist, and i find most of my jscript answers on > >> google > >> groups so try there first. > > > >You never said how it was related to PHP, though.
