Further information for people is that from the start I have tried to seperate my presentation from my logic. so that the layout of particular screens in my application can be easily changed without changing the functionality. I have tried to seperate the mysql quering as much as possible from the functions used by the user so that a change in database will be easier to change in few places in the code, rather than all over the place. Now does this warrent me to be able to state in a design document Im writing that I have used the ideology of the MVC pattern or other patterns even though they are not implemented as classes in the code? Just want to gain a general consensus on this... Thanks Bob

For example I dont use classes but instead opted for functions which I include in the necessary files. Now the idea of MVC pattern seems to be that the: View = what the user sees (in my case the front end) Controller = handles the user input (the php validation side) Model = encalsulate the appropriate data ( the database) Is it as simple as this? are there any good places to understand php patterns more?
