showing text string of month from mysql query

hi..
i have a mysql table with timestamp field in it.. what i want to do is show
the date on a web page from that date.. so far i have for my query:
$query=mysql_query("select dayofmonth(Posted) as day, month(Posted) as
month, year(Posted) as year, ...");
then use it on a web page:
while($view=mysql_fetch_object($query)){
?>
<tr>
<td>
date: $view->month/$view->day/$view->year
</td>
</tr>
<?php
//whatever else code here
}
#end
will show up like for example:
date: 04/18/2003
i want it to show up as something like:
date: April 18, 2003
just dont know the right code to replace the $view->month with to get the
text string "april" or whatever the month in the timestamp is.. i tried
date() but all it can ever give me is the curent month string not the month
of the timestamp..
if i sound confusing let me know i will try to redo the post...
