I am trying to fill in a field in a page to show the path to a particular file.eg. C:/program files/........ This path then will be stored in a database. Now i was wondering has anyone got a code snippet that allows the user to rather than type this path into the field to allow them to browse their file system instead (e.g by opening Windows explorer for example)The whole idea of browser security is that it does not have access to the local (client) computer, so no. Having said that, depending upon the browser, some JavaScript/VBScript may be able to do what you want. PHP executes on the server, so does not know about the client computer. HTH Chris
