So, sorry for such a long-winded message but to review I would like to here your comments on existing classes for user authentication, form checking, and maybe even a message board class (or app). Here you find many ready to use classes of objects to implement most of what you need: http://www.phpclasses.org/
On the methods, do you see anything I am missing? Anything that doesn't belong? ThanksYour system seems to be reasonably sized . If you are going to build all by hand, even with the help of some ready to use components, you will probably take a long time to deploy it. You may want to consider using this tool named Metastorage that basically lets you describe your data model is a very simple XML format, as classes with variables, validation rules, relationships between the objects of the classes and functions that will handle several types of operation, like storing and retrieving the objects from database tables. Then the tool generates the code of the classes for you ready to use in your applications including a special class to install your database schema without any need to deal with SQL manually. Many database types are supported. The latest version about to be released is already capable of also generating classes to automatically create, validate, process and output forms that provide a Web interface to the class objects stored in the database. The forms can have presentation and layout defined in totally separated template files. You can even define skins that can be applied to all your forms or even use ready themes that make your forms look like windows of some well known OSes (say Windows 9x, XP, Mac , etc...) sometimes making the user feel as if those are native OS applications. The forms capability is only available in CVS for now but since it is all Open Source, you can find it all here: http://www.meta-language.net/ http://www.meta-language.net/metastorage.html http://www.meta-language.net/download.html -- Regards, Manuel Lemos
