Well it finally happened, my web host transfered my directory to a new server which has php 4.31 (instead of my old 4.23) so now all of my scripts don't work. the one that's bothering me the most, though, is my scripts that include a remote html file. when www.mysite.com/folder loads a php file containing only <?include ("http://www.yahoo.com");?> it properly fetched the entire yahoo.com page and displayed it as my page on the old server. Believe it or not, it also correctly displays it on the new server running 4.31, but now takes over a minute to load! GRR. include ("http://www.yahoo.com/somedirectory") also works. however, a different script on my site which includes "http://www.adifferentsite/directory" returns: ---snip--- Warning: main(http://www.adifferentsite/directory) [function.main]: failed to create stream: Invalid argument in /hsphere/local/home/user/directory/index.phtml on line 1 Warning: main() [function.main]: Failed opening 'http://www.adifferentsite/directory' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php')in /hsphere/local/home/user/directory/index.phtml on line 1. ---end snip--- and while i'm able to load www.yahoo.com as a page, i don't appear to be able to load many other top level domains (yet alone those top level domains with directory paths after them) the php settings are essentially the same as the old server. please don't tell me that i cannot use include(remote html) anymore :( i don't want to have to deal with all the fopen() fread(stuff) echo stuff fclose crap. is there any simple way to just include another webpage within my page without all the fopen stuff? i need to use this method as sort of a virtual hosting alternative. thank you so much __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
