Palm's Peanutpress.com offers a free e-book reader, and the "e-book
markup language" is pretty simple.
if you're talking about distributing and not just making, check out the
header() function and readfile() in php. a script like:
<?php
header('Content-Type: application/octel'); // may not be right header
readfile('the_ebook_file');
?>
That will allow the user to download an e-book off your site.
