Is this possible? I would guess so, since one would just change "localhost" to an IP address, right?
$db = mysql_connect("127.0.0.1","user","pass");
But I imagine the ISP must allow this kind of access—and I imagine most don't... Does anyone know how this might be done? Basically, I want to be able to update tables residing in various databases (on various ISPs) from one set of PHP scripts (on one machine). But I need to connect to those databases somehow.
If you know of an article or resource or anything, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
