Okay, what's the problem?!!
You export all the data once to your sql server, [even with
a simple perl or php script], then change the script [on the
other machine] which alters the text file. In the part which
changes the text file and adds new information to the file,
you open a connection to the other machine [which had the
text file and now has the sql server on it] and trough that
sql connection, add new rows to your database. Searching
trough that database is quite faster and easier! I bet it doesn't
put more load on your system. :-) [Use MySql if you're using
php, it's the ultimate].
