If you're trying to access the globals from within the scope of a function or
class, you have to declare the globals:
function foo() {
global $USERNAME, $PASSWORD;
}
Alternatively, access them like this:
$GLOBALS['USERNAME'] and $GLOBALS['PASSWORD'] in any scope.
