I've been running a PHP app which connects to a remote Oracle 8i server for
several months. The app runs on Windows2000 running IIS. I'm using ADODB as
the database abstraction layer and everything has been working flawlessly --
until today. Suddenly queries stopped returning valid recordsets. I turned on
debugging (in ADODB) and get this...
1858: ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was
expected
The app uses very basic select queries against a single view in Oracle.
The Oracle DBA says nothing changed on their end other than the addition of a
number of records, and I can't think of anything that changed on our end. We
also have a ColdFusion app (using the native Oracle datasource) on the same
server which is still working fine.
Anyone run into anything like this before? Could the addition of new rows
into the database have caused this. Is there a size limit on the number of
rows returned?
Thanks for any insight.
