Hi,
I'm having issues installing php with ldap support. I have the
OpenLDAP libraries installed (/usr/local) and ldapsearch works fine.
I configured php like
./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
--with-oci8=shared,/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7
--with-ldap=shared,/usr/local --with-openssl=shared,/usr/local/ssl
--without-mysql --disable-cgi
and like
./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
--with-ldap=shared,/usr/local --with-openssl=shared,/usr/local/ssl
--without-mysql --disable-cgi
In both cases there are no errors during the config or the compile
process.
I am using the example from http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.ldap.php
but I receive the error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ldap_connect() in ...
Now, I read in some of previous questions regarding similar situations
that libphp4.so needs to be linked with libldap.so and liblber.so
That doesn't happen for mine unless I do a
export LDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/lib LIBS="-lldap -llber" before
configuring.
But my script still gives me the same error.
Now, I noticed that it has created the following files in
/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20020429/
ldap.so openssl.so
Is libphp4.so supposed to call these? How do they fit in?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a project due in 3 days
that requires ldap authentication, oracle connectivity, session
support, and soap support. If I can't get the ldap/php stuff working,
I'm afraid that I'll have same problem with oracle/php support.
Thanks,
Michael
Further documentation follows:
My OpenLDAP configuration command:
./configure --disable-slapd --disable-slurpd --with-tls
(I don't need the server or the replication stuff, just the client
libraries)
Output from php configure:
...
checking for LDAP support... yes, shared
checking for 3 arg ldap_set_rebind_proc... (cached) yes
checking for ldap_parse_reference... (cached) no
checking for ldap_start_tls_s... (cached) no
