Hey All,
Here's another one under the "Fun with Sessions" heading...
I'm a convert from ColdFusion, where I used sessions extensively. I
have just begun to play with them in PHP. Reading the docs, I've
decided against setting the --enable-trans-sid, in favor of lower
overhead and accepting responsibility for passing the session id.
My questions:
Is passing ?PHPSESSID=$PHPSESSID the same as using the
=sid flag? It seems more reliable.
I'd also like to rename the session.name parameter in php.ini, to
something shorter and hopefully unique to my sites. I have
changed the session.name value in php.ini and restarted apache,
yet echo($PHPSESSID) still returns a value, while
echo($MyNewShorterName) does not.
Bug? Cluelessness? DumbIdeaAnyway?
Help!
