Hi,
It seems that in their eternal wisdom PHP developers have now disabled (in 4.3.2RC2) ini_set ("max_execution_time","1200") when safe mode is on. As set_time_limit() is also disabled in safe mode there is NO way to make scripts run more than default 30 seconds on most virtual servers (clients usually can not edit php.ini, and admins won't).
What is the point? With updates like this writing real life applications seems to get harder and harder. I have apps that support fully safe mode and now they will support it no more because 30 secs get you nowhere with megabytes of processee data and execution just halts. What can they do to work around the problem? What can I do to work around the problem?
Pekka
