I have built a site that has some pretty heavy traffic, and using mysql to track some session variables. When a user hits the site, using the session_start they are assigned a session, and then the mysql database is updated with the sessionid and other variables. The problem is there seems to be some lock happening when the insert is happening: >| tienda | Query | 4 | Locked | insert into orders set >session_id='3bdcf57d580783482dc6e451445ac957',affiliate_id='',session_start=n >| I have never seen this before, and I am not explicitly locking the insert (I have no need for locking the databases in this case) but I am not sure if this is a mysql thing or a php thing. Using php 4.2.3: ./configure' '--with-apxs=/usr/local/sbin/apxs' '--with-config-file-path=/usr/local/etc' '--enable-versioning' '--with-regex=system' '--without-gd' '--without-mysql' '--with-gd=/usr/local' '--enable-gd-native-ttf' '--with-freetype-dir=/usr/local' '--with-jpeg-dir=/usr/local' '--with-png-dir=/usr/local' '--with-zlib' '--with-mcrypt=/usr/local' '--with-mhash=/usr/local' '--with-mysql=/usr/local' '--with-openssl=/usr' '--with-expat-dir=/usr/local' '--enable-ftp' '--enable-sysvsem' '--enable-sysvshm' '--prefix=/usr/local' 'i386-portbld-freebsd4.7' Mysql 3.23.47 Any ideas?
