passing vars back from a remote call

Hi there, Thanks to Kevin Stone for the good answer. It was embarrasingly easy. Now i have another question: once we included the php-file from another computer, let the script do some magic and return. How can we pass a variable back again. It works on a local include, once i used the http://... it did not give me a var back. I could echo it on the screen though, so it is somewhere. What to do?
