Hi Rasmus, This seems like a real limitation that my turn into to trouble in a near future. Since the "recommended" apache is 2.0.x, bugfix and new features are expected to be available for such branch. That will force us to stick with apache 1.3.x possibily narrowing the options of mod_something or usability. I know this is not motivating (specially with the 5.0 devel) but it is surely necessary. Sorry I do not know enough to help with that. --- daniel@electroteque.org wrote: > right cool , understand now , so its the libraries > that the extensions hook > into , yeh can get quite messy > > > > On Sun, 18 May 2003 daniel@electroteque.org wrote: > >> :| , sorry to step on toes there rasmus , i hope > it gets sorted out , > >> would it be a good idea then to sit down and talk > to the developers of > >> all the php extensions in like a big meeting to > sort it out or are > >> they not interested ? > > > > It isn't the extensions, it is the libraries > behind the extensions. > > General-purpose multi-threading on UNIX just isn't > quite there yet. > > You can write specialized MT applications easily > enough, but try to > > write an MT app that links in dozens of common > libraries and you have a > > mess on your hands. > > > > And like I said, we aren't very motivated. > > > > -Rasmus > > > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
