In addition to what Jason said, I'd encourage you to get ANY of the packages you've tried (the one which closest meets your needs), and start learning every line of it, and modifying it to suit your needs. I started with some code from an article by Kevin Yank on sitepoint.com. At the time, I thought it was the "best", but now I've modified it so much I doubt even Kevin would recognise the code, or even the logic. The point is, it was a starting point for which to improve on and learn off, which meant that ultimately I have exactly what *I* want in the way of login/user/session management -- not what Kevin wanted, nor what you want. Also, please remember that you've asked for opensource. Yes, OS has given us some beautiful things (like PHP), but I find it kind of stupid that one of your demands are that the code is "opensource" and another is that the code must be "seriously good". Yes, you MIGHT find something that meets those two criteria, but really, it's a big ask -- usually, you get what you pay for. Not that I can think of any pay-for scripts out there for login :) Justin
