Compile into apache?

Can I compile PHP into Apache (>=2.0.45)? How is that done? I couldn't
see anything obvious in the Apache or PHP ./configure help. Would I compile
Apache, then PHP then build Apache again to bring PHP in. can someone send
the sample ./configure parameters? Please don't advise me on the dangers of
Apache>=2.0.45 with PHP>=4.3.1, I know.
