enable-trans-sid is compiled in if you DO want SID's in the URL, and ONLY if
cookies aren't available as a means of passing the session ID.
But in your case it would appear PHP wasn't compiled with it. Something
tells me *maybe* it is pre-compiled in by default from 4.3 upwards maybe.
I *Guess* you might try turning off session.use_trans_sid with either
ini_set() or with a .htaccess file.
Just to make it clear, you only have three choices with sessions -- in the
URL, POST or in cookies. Leaving out POST, if the user doesn't have
cookies, then you're stuck with adding them in the URLs. If you turn off
trans-sid and the user doesn't have cookies, then the ONLY way sessions will
work is if you MANUALLY add the session ID to every URL within your site.
Yuk!
