problem with SCRIPT_NAME

hi everyone
well i've got a problem that looks strange to me.
i've got 2 versions of php installed on w2k:
4.2.3 & 4.3.1, both installed as CGI execs,
with no differences in their php.ini files.
but they return diffrent values of $_SERVER["SCRIPT_NAME"]:
4.3.1 gives me a correct value, i.e. relative path to _php_script_
which scans to this superglobal variable (for example: '/phpinfo.php');
but 4.2.3 gives me a relative path to _php_exec_ ('/php/php.exe')
and i don't understand why.
can anyone help me?
