Just recently dumped ASP in favor of PHP and Linux and found this thread very interesting...
Has anyone used eval() [and/or serialize()] to store html/php templates in a database so your entire site is served from a database, with only the bare minimum of actual files on the server, and all the site contents stored in MySQL?
If so, what are the performance trade-offs?
Under ASP, I never found a good way to store the templates in a database and have the ASP still be executed.... (I may have just missed the ASP eval() equivalent.)
Thanks...
