session won't expire, why?

i am using the following functions to deal with sessions:
session_start();
session_set_cookie_params(0);
session_register("session_username");
session_register("session_password");
i don't know why, but everytime i close the browser (cookie should expire,
right?) and then
reload the page, the session data is there again, which it shouldn't! (yes,
i clicked the reload button...)
anyboy know why i can't kill this session?
