How to send e-mail from within PHP in a M$ platform?

Hi,
I am currently working on a project where the ISP provides as platform NT
machines running PHP over Internet Information Server. The function mail()
does not work.
PHPINFO() reports variable 'sendmail_path' as having no value.
How am I supposed to send e-mail? My ISP told me I would have to send e-mail
using some program like AspEmail.
Anyone could give me some tips on which should be the easiest way to perform
this simple task that is to send e-mail from within PHP upon a M$ platform?
