I tried this on php-inst and got no replies.... Perhaps someone here can
help?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to build the binary executable version (not the apache
module) of 3.0.16 on a stock RedHat 6.2 platform. I run configure as
follows:
/configure --with-system-regex --with-pgsql=/usr --with-imap=/usr/local
Everything seems fine. Configure warns me at the end about the security
issues, and make appears to build the executable without incident.
Nevertheless, every time I try to run the binary, I get "error in
loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/apache/ldap.so undefined symbol
cfg_get_long."
Now this is really puzzling. First of all, I didn't specify anything
about Apache so why would it look in /usr/lib/apache? Second, I didn't
ask for ldap support. In fact, I experimented with compiling php after
removing ldap.c from the functions directory and from the Makefile.
Again it builds okay, but I still get the error above. I even tried
including -I /usr/lib/apache in the Makefile, but that didn't help
either.
I don't recall ever having this problem with other versions of PHP that
I've build on RedHat platforms. I'm using a fresh source tree of
3.0.16, not a RedHat SRPM, though that hasn't mattered in the past.
Any hints?
Peter
