Well, this is a MySQL question, not a PHP question, but in PHP
you would do it like this:
mysql_query("DROP TABLE $table_name", $dbh);
Just make sure that the user PHP is running as has permission to
drop tables.
The MySQL manual page for DROP TABLE:
http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/DROP_TABLE.html
Good luck,
Torben
