whats the difference? call-time-pass... is function callMe(&$obj) {...} and pass-by-ref is "return &$obj" ? I'm not sure if I got you. tx dorgon Rush wrote:

Will the pass-by-reference feature really be dropped?! Many software design patterns wouldn't be possible anymore! It's an essential feature.
