Passing Date/Time

I have a input field in a form that is disabled by javascript but is assigned a value in the code
that is the RFC 822 formated date. Why is this field not included in the $HTTP_POST_VARS?

When the page is submitted all other values are passed except the date/time value, why? How do I
fix it?
