No, this is not true! > I use IE 5.0 to view the pages, That's the problem! > but the server is running Mandrake 7.0 > with Apache 1.3.12 and PHP4. Here's an short version of my source: > > Header("Content-type: image/jpeg"); > $image = ImageCreate(300,300); > # In this part I edit the image, creates fancy lines and stuff =) > ImageJpeg($image); > ImageDestroy($image); > > When I try to save the image, it defaults to a .bmp extension, and it > certainly is a BMP. (When I open it with other programs) Yes, but that's an IE bug, NOT a GD/PHP bug! I already reported this error many many months ago to Micro$oft but they didn't even add it to the knowledge base! This happens sometimes, although I don't know what exactly causes the error - the type of JPEG compression or something like that? What's the name of the default file IE suggests? Something like "noname.bmp" (sorry, don't know what it SHOULD be called, the German version of IE automatically suggests "unbenannt.bmp") ? Try using Netscape and the same thing won't happen! > Does anyone have a clue on what I should do to fix this? This is not a fix, but a) don't use IE (not a good solution!) b) Mail Micro$oft and report the bug again and again until they understand! Regards, Sascha Kimmel * spammers beware *
