__FILE__ plus variables?

I have a password protected site. If you go to an inside page before logging in, it redirects you to the log in page. I would like to grab the URL that a user tries to access and send them back there after they log in. I'm using __FILE__ to get the file name (secondary.php for example) but that doesn't return the variables (secondary.php?cat_id=267). Is there a way for me to get the full URL not just the filename?
