Hi,
PHP is the smallest part of your solution. For such a high volume database
your primary concern should be to select an application organise the data
in the most efficient way, and platform to host it on. Oracle, Sysbase and
Informix are 3 of the top databases which provide all the facilities you
will need. They all run on Unix and PHP works with all of them.
If you write your SQL, triggers, stored procedures and functions properly
then PHP will only have a small part to play, ie just displaying the
results.
PHP can couple very well.
HTH,
David.
