there has to be other people out there having the same problems that I am having
getting php to work as an apache module. I have tried 4.0, 4.0.1pl2 and 4.0.2 and
all do the exact same thing.
I am running on a Redhat 6.1 setup with this apache:
Server version: Apache/1.3.12 (Unix) (Red Hat/Linux)
Server built: Mar 1 2000 13:37:34
I run php3 as a module no problem.
when I build php4 I use --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs and have tried both the
builtin --with-mysql and --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql.
building always works fine, no errors or warnings. then once I start up apache
it makes it through all the initialization (I can sent the strace output if need
be), reads in the php.ini and all that. then it fork()s to start serving
requests and it then dissapears.
if I run httpd -X then I can see the segfault:
uname({sys="Linux", node="kosh.radical.ca", ...}) = 0
rt_sigaction(SIGRT_0, {0x403cfe10, [], 0x4000000}, NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigaction(SIGRT_1, {0x403cf7ac, [], 0x4000000}, NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigaction(SIGRT_2, {0x403cfe9c, [], 0x4000000}, NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [RT_0], NULL, 8) = 0
munmap(0x40354000, 19895) = 0
read(4, "ndalone server listens. For\n# po"..., 4096) = 4096
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
I was told that this is becuase of the mysql libs (back when I was trying to get
4.0.0 to work) but this same thing happens with the builtin libs or my own mysql
libs.
any help would be bery much apreciated. this is really starting to piss me off.
cheers, Angus.
