It needs more than just the headers, it also needs the libs in /usr/lib.
So, how can I point to both at once, you ask?
./configure --with-mysql=/usr
PHP will dig around under /usr and find the stuff it needs.
Life would be way mo betta if those wacky Un*x guys could actually agree
on a single directory structure...
