Check your php.ini file, especially if you used that php.ini-optimized as
your base -- Optimizations include not setting a whole slew of variables
that take some time on each page hit... Okay for SysAdmins that *really*
want to squeeze off those micro-seconds, but kinda silly, if you ask me.
[Now if you're aiming for security through forced education rather than
speed with -optimized it might make sense... :-)]
