you need to write a script that will "talk" to the webserver and send the appropriate http commands and check the server's replies. Have a look at : http://www.weberdev.com/index.php3?GoTo=get_example.php3?count=455 berber -----Original Message----- From: Rick Dietz [mailto:rbdietz@indiana.edu] Sent: Sunday, June 11, 2000 4:17 AM To: php-general@lists.php.net Subject: [PHP-GENERAL] Testing URLs Hello, I'm new to php, using 4 on macosx. I've been looking through the manual and other online resources, but haven't found quite what i'm looking for... I'm trying to test whether a number of URL's are functional, whether the server can be found, or in the case it is, whether it returns 404 errors, etc. I didn't find anything quite like this in the documentation of HTTP or fileIO. Any help would be appreciated.
